Sushi. Miso soup. Spring rolls.
Finishing a book for fun. Kind texts from a friend. Knowing I have people to count on.

Day One Hundred & Seventy-Three
The sound of a toddler laughing a deep belly laugh.
Exploring Estes Park.
An amazing brunch, in an adorable mountain-side cafe.
Seeing Elk.
Watching Beavers, from up close, work on their dam.
Putting a puzzle together with V.
Meeting/Making a new friend.
Homemade pizza.
Saying: "Holy crap this is so crazy beautiful" repeatedly over the whole weekend, due to the stunning 360 view.
A friend who tells it like it is, even when I don't want to hear it.
Trying to work through something I've never tried to work through before.

Day One Hundred & Seventy
Fox
by Adrienne Rich
I needed fox Badly I needed
a vixen for the long time none had come near me
I needed recognition from a
triangulated face burnt-yellow eyes
fronting the long body the fierce and sacrificial tail
I needed history of fox briars of legend it was said she
had run through
I was in want of fox
And the truth of briars she had to have run through
I craved to feel on her pelt if my hands could even slide
past or her body slide between them sharp truth distressing
surfaces of fur
lacerated skin calling legend to account
a vixen's courage in vixen terms
For a human animal to call for help
on another animal
is the most riven the most revolted cry on earth
come a long way down
Go back far enough it means tearing and torn endless
and sudden
back far enough it blurts
into the birth-yell of the yet-to-be human child
pushed out of a female the yet-to-be woman

Day One Hundred & Sixty-Seven
Sunlight on my face.
Warm cinnamon rolls.
Holding hands.
Reading for fun.
New clothes.
Clean sheets.
Listening to the guy next door jam on his harmonica.
Fresh baked bread.
The beginning of Spring... especially the when the trees start growing new leaves.
Lilacs.
This song:
Get-togethers with friends.
Prayer flags.
Clouds.
Unlimited text messaging.
Interesting classes.
Ellen DeGeneres' facebook page.
Learning new things about myself.
Silly websites, like this: http://www.buzzfeed.com/expresident/animals-who-are-extremely-disappointed-in-you
Recognizing how I've grown and how I still need to grow.
New episodes of "my shows" (as my great-aunt called it).
Asking for what I need, regardless of whether or not I receive it.
Letters from friends.

Day One Hundred & Sixty-Six
For some reason, I love running errands with other people. It's so much more enjoyable and I love the simplicity of doing every day tasks with another person. It's the little things, right? :)

Skipping class. It has to happen at least once a quarter and I really put it to get use... by doing very little.

Day One Hundred & Sixty-One
Saying goodbye to J. was really hard today, but I am so incredibly grateful that she was able to come visit and that we had such an amazing time. It was so nice to be able to spend the first evening together reminiscing about our mutual history, the next day catching up on our present, and then the next two days simply being in each others presence. She's been such an amazing part of my life for so long now and I am so blessed to call her my friend. What a fabulous, fabulous weekend.

Day One Hundred & Fifty-Nine
The ease of being with my best friend. Sleeping in, napping, watching ridiculous TV, eating popcorn for dinner, going to the movies, and cuddling together. I know absolutely amazing people and they all have very special places in my heart/life, but there is just something undeniably unique, calming, renewing, humbling, and nostalgic about being with someone who has known you since you were 14 years old; someone who has been through your adolescence, your college years, your early twenties, and is moving into adulthood with you.

Day One Hundred & Fifty-Eight
The joy that comes with having good people over to my place and joining together in a meal. Hanging out with my friends is always enjoyable, but there's also just something about sitting around a table, "breaking bread," and sharing in laughs, smiles, and good conversation. It's especially wonderful when different groups of people I love gather together and get along well.

Day One Hundred & Fifty-Seven
Picking my bestie up from the airport and having that moment of "squeeeeeeeeeeeee."
Chinese food, wine, and reminiscing about old times.
Feeling like two seconds has passed since the last time we saw each other when it's really been months.
Knowing that she's sleeping in my living room right now.
The thought of spending the next three days with her!!!!

Day One Hundred & Fifty-Five
One of my uncles was in the region for business this week and drove to Denver to take me out to dinner. It was so wonderful to catch up with him, to see him in my arena (instead of always at his place or my mom's), and to just simply be with him. I don't make it back to Michigan very often and when I do, I don't always have a chance to see him, so it was so great to laugh with him, to share my life, and to get an update on his. I kept having these moments would when I would just look at him across the table and think, "Wait, you don't belong here, but damn I'm so happy to see you."
